Bill, congratulations on your new blog site. I’ve strolled through and like how you’ve set things up. The florilegium page and poetry will be of interest to garden-loving Renata and my writers’ groups, so have forwarded. Though we can’t make it to this Saturday’s Weymouth meeting, we’ll see you at the next.
All the best,
Bruce

Thanks, Bruce! My greetings to Renate. I have a series of summer wildflower photos from Montana I’ll be adding to FLORILEGIUM later. An interesting note about that term — Linda has a reproduction of a book titled “Florilegium,” (Besler) originally produced in 1613 — over 1000 engravings of flowers and plants. Evidently there were many similar horticultural books to follow, but at some point the word has also come to mean a collection of writings or sayings. Sort of a “potpourri.” How appropriate for this blog.

Oh! …to see these lovely photographs posted by you, Bill,…and then to notice a response by Bruce Lader! Miss him so much, as a person, and from poetry critique groups we were in (three of more over time.) Renate’s beautiful and skillful egg art is proudly displayed on our piano. Blessings on Bruce’s memory, and “God Bless Us Everyone.”

Thank you, Priscilla. Bruce and Renata were fixtures at many Weymouth meetings — I hope to see her again when we come together in the future.

(I should go back through my 100+ posts and index wildflower photos there — a worthy solstice endeavour.)
